Day off today. Was the guinea pig first person out on the water at midday. Wind was ok but not great so came back in for 20 minutes after one run out and back. Went out again and wind had properly filled in. Still was only person out on the water, and was nice to be out with the whole playground to myself, in the blazing hot midday sun. Came in again briefly after about 20 minutes to find loads of people rigging up, probably after seeing me out there.... Then went out again and stayed out for the rest of the afternoon until about 4pm.

Wind was honking initially so had to pull on max downhaul and outhaul. But then decreased slightly as the afternoon went on, so that for a lot of the time I was a fraction underpowered and struggling to stay upwind all the time, which is not much fun on a wave board I have discovered. Got very frustrated that I couldn´t stay upwind and go for gybes, and after a while even more frustrated with my generally poor performance as I got more tired. Beginning to think that maybe the wave board is not the best choice for the conditions we are getting at the moment (i.e. no proper waves yet), and also for me to improve since I can´t do much more on it than sail in a straight line and jump. Really want to get the Axxis fixed which should be a lot easier to sail and improve on, and also then I wouldn´t have to worry about using the centre´s boards any more.

The good conditions means today gets 3 stars, but overall not a very satisfying session.
